Laser Hair Reduction

Excessive hair growth is more common than we think. Many people suffer from unwanted hair growth and we have hair growing in places we don't expect - such as the face, neck, and chest, breasts, around the nipples, abdomen, bikini, buttocks and legs. Considering Laser hair removal may be your solution for this unsightly hair.

Imagine never having to pluck, tweeze, wax, bleach or use various hair removal creams which often provide a messy and sometimes painful and limited temporary solution, which must be used on a regular basis.

The only historical proven method of long term solution for smaller areas such as top lip, chin, bikini areas etc has been around for 25 years. This procedure is again somewhat painful and very time consuming which involves a needle being inserted in the hair follicles and an electrical current passes through the needle to destroy the hair root. This requires months and even years of repeat treatments and can be prone to scarring, hyper and hypo pigmentation and is also impractical for treating large areas.

Nd: YAG Laser and IPL Laser

Since 1990 Nd YAG laser was developed primarily for permanent hair reduction.

The light produced by the laser and is transmitted by individual single shots and is one of a specific wavelength (1064 nanometers) which for skin types I to IV is selectively absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair rather than the melanin in the skin. Hair removal is accomplished by the generation of heat from the light in the melanin (Hair) which is then transferred to the hair follicle (root) The light safely disables the hair follicle to impair growth without damaging the surrounding skin.

IPL (Intense pulse light) Hair Removal is used for larger areas and when having the treatment there is a flash of light at each shot taken on the area (described more like someone taking a photograph with a flash camera).
